CLI Appoints Distinguished Fellow in Legaltech

CLI is delighted to announce the appointment of Sam Burrett as a Distinguished Fellow in the area of legaltech.

Sam’s Fellowship will focus on a comprehensive review and analysis of how, why, when, where and what legaltech is being used in the legal ecosystem. During Fellowship with the Centre, Sam will draw and expand on his work in advising in-house counsel in the areas of agile work/management and the use of legaltech, as well as his passion for collaboration, experience sharing and podcasting. Sam will author a series of blog posts and podcasts throughout his Fellowship, culminating in a user friendly guide about legaltech and its role in creating, transforming and delivering contemporary legal services and products.

“Our Distinguished Fellows are an integral part of the Centre’s research and industry collaboration agenda,” said CLI’s Executive Director, Terri Mottershead. “There’s an overwhelming amount of information in the market about legaltech but too little about how to make the best choices for your practice. We believe the experience Sam brings to this Fellowship will not only support the Centre’s core mission to prepare, connect and educate in this area, but will also provide a guide that explores the important questions to ask and key choices to make about legaltech. I expect Sam’s Fellowship will also be informed by CLI’s Legaltech Techy Tuesday Virtual Demo Series, our recently launched Digital Literacy Series and our next round of Roundtables in Australia, New Zealand and Asia on this topic – it will tie together and expand the work we have been doing in this area for some time now. We can’t wait for Sam to start!”
