Automation is transforming the legal world! It’s become the foundation stone for the delivery of legal services and products better, cheaper and faster. It’s tech fuelled, experience enabled and shifting the type of and way lawyers and allied legal professionals work so they can focus less on routinised, repetitive tasks and more on solving complex legal matters and adding real value.
So, what is automation? What is this thing that is responsible for such significant change? How is it possible that it can kick in before we meet our clients (intake), help us work out who our clients should consult (triage), help us track client matters in our law firms, legal departments, community legal centres and ALSPs (workflows), make it possible to identify and make mid-course corrections (contract life cycle management), predict when something might go wrong and prevent it happening (compliance) and, even manage to do much of this without anyone consulting us (self-help)?
