Closing plenary discussion: AI Law, Robot Personalities, Ethics, Regulation and Risk Management – The new legal frontier?

 

On 31 August 2018, the Centre for Legal Innovation held its second annual AI in Legal Practice Summit in Sydney. The Closing Plenary Panel discussion addressed the question “AI Law, Robot Personalities, Ethics, Regulation and Risk Management – The New Legal Frontier?” Facilitated by Michael Guihot, Senior Lecturer, QUT, panellists Belinda Dunstan, Associate Lecturer, UNSW Faculty of Built Environment and a PhD candidate UNSW Art & Design Creative Robotics Lab; Aurelie Jacquet, Founder, Ethics, AI and Automated Decision Making Professional Group; Helaine Leggat, Principal Lawyer, Sladen Legal; and Suzie Thoraval, Director, Funding and Disclosure Implementation, Victorian Electoral Commission and Member, CLI Advisory Board; grappled with these topical and complex issues from many different points of view.
