FromCounsel and Sparqa Legal are two legal-tech businesses developed by a group of leading barristers and lawyers in London. They were founded on the principle that high-quality legal information and services should be more readily accessible, both within the legal profession and the wider community. Both services provide a core database of legal Q&A guidance. This format works more effectively with available search technologies than traditional legal content, and also more closely tracks the way people search for information online.
FromCounsel launched in 2016 andis a specialist, online corporate law information service that provides detailed, authoritative Q&A commentary on English corporate law.
Sparqa Legal launched in 2018 and is focused on empowering SMEs to address their own legal issues, by giving them online access to auto-generated documents and extensive expert legal Q&A guidance on issues relevant to small businesses, backed up by cost-effective options for legal advice when required. Since launching, Sparqa Legal has secured partnerships with, among others, neo-banks Starling and Revolut, and telco Vodafone.
